Software Upgrade
If you are using a software version older than 2.36 you can upgrade to Version 2.36 completely free-of-charge. To complete the upgrade simply follow the step-by-step upgrade instructions provided below:
    Step-by-step Upgrade Instructions:
  1. Your Protrak Ranger Software must be closed during the upgrade.
  2. Click the Link at the bottom of this page to begin the download.
  3. When the download box opens select "Save".
  4. Select where on your Hard Drive you'd like to save the file to & click "Save".
  5. When your download completes select "Run" or "Open".
  6. Once the Installer opens you should see a Screen similar to the picture below.
  7. Read each screen and select "Next" until the installer is finished.
  8. You have successfully completed the install and can now re-open your Software.

This upgrade is for the Protrak Ranger ONLY!

This update includes the ability to adjust the GPS sensitivity from the software by sending the command to the Ranger. For this to work properly, the Ranger needs specific firmware installed in the unit. Units 1101 to 1121, and 1123 to 1131 do not have the required firmware to accept this new command. Changing the GPS sensitivity for any of the units listed above can cause the units to stop functioning completely.
